Ouch. That hurts to hear. I'm almost tempted to also upgrade my 2008 40D to a 7D II or something. That's my macro camera, so the crop factor works to my advantage. - Dann

I'm still amazed by what you get out of that 40D. Impressive.

About time Dann.... thats is one truly sweet upgrade mate and you'll really enjoy it.... congrats.

At the 10th anniversary in 2014 i had the Nikon D700.... that has since been upgraded to the D3s plus i have added the Z6 with 24-70 f2.8

Totally loving it.... but still not ready to gove up fully on the DSLR so use both equally. D3s is mainly for sports.
The Z6 took some getting used to , but now everything is second nature.... as fi the lens its the best i have ever used.
A good mate of mine bought the Z Noct f0.95 .... incredible lens. though manual focus only.... huge $$ $15,000AUD

I pulled the trigger on a 600mm f/4 last week, but the auction canceled on me, due to "damage". Might be for the best, since I was mildly nauseous after the fact.

ISO 5000, and heavily cropped, yet still clean. Loving how forgiving this is

Most of this gear is not mine, but I got to use it for a talking-head style shoot last year.

And this setup was for an all-day walking tour video shoot - monopod to cylindrical battery pack grip to gimbal to GoPro. Keeping it as light and mobile as possible.

Nice setup here !

I bought this beast a few months ago.
Underwater case for the D850.

Still need to get used to it

Why does the lens portion of the case get so big? It's like a mega-sized hood! Is it just for protection?

It's for air-water refraction compensation, I guess.
But I know they do a smaller version of that dome. I wonder if they added some lens distortion correction to the smaller version.

The volume of this one is so big that even if it weights a ton, it has positive buoyancy.

Very cool. What do you hope to shoot with it?

Around my place, not much as "my"like is very blurry most of the time.
But still interesting to dive with a nice camera.

Freediving buddies, some shrimps, hopefully some fishes when they're back and water is clear.

This is my simple setup for making YouTube videos. Most of my videos are table top reviews so it works for me. The camera is a Canon M50 in a Small Rig cage. The mic is a Rode Video Micro. So far this combo has served me well.

I took your advice on the small mirror-less and got that one too. Found a cheap ring light so for $7, so it's something

The switch to mirror-less seems inevitable moving forward

Not just yet for still photography. I got a 1 series traditional DSLR, and based on my prior camera, it should last me 10 years

I love Small Rig stuff! What do you have riding on top there - a battery, a hard drive?
