Power on : "THUMP thump!"

Yep, finally... finally I decided to bought a Thump 2.
I've had the opportunity to buy the limited edition (500 ex supposed to be made) Thump 2 Pacha. Pacha is a nightclub group. The Pacha edition is preloaded with a mix from Wally Lopez, one of the DJ playing at Pacha Ibiza's nightclub.
Well, I don't really care about this and replaced immediately the music with one of my choice (At now, this is Apocalyptica).
The Pacha edition is not only noticeable by the music preloaded. There's also some nice additions : Red icons, cherries (Pacha's logo) etched on the lens, and a pair of Yellow replacement lens (with the cherries etched on lens too).

Back to the e-sunglasses themselves :
Being known that the GasCan are not really my cup of tea, it's strange that I really like the look of the Thump 2, but I do.
The coverage is not the best one in the whole Oakley line, but is still correct.
Despite the fact that the stems are a bit short for my big head, the 3 flexion point speaker's "arms" are long enough to be very well placed in my ears, so no problem with this. The bad side is that once they are in place, I can't pull the glasses a bit to get a better ventilation, so my brows touch the frame and some fog appear quite quickly if I use them for sport are simply rapid walk.
With respect to the speakers themselves, they have a great sound quality for semi internal ones. They are lacking a bit of bass, but that's a global defect for that type of speakers.
The music control is really easy and once you get used with the different commands, it's just natural and you don't need to think about which button you have to push to get the good action, you just do it.
512 Mo will allow you to bring a few hours of music in your sunglasses (still find it to be unbelievable) and you should not be annoyed with battery life as far as you keep your USB cable with you ; That's what I do so I'm never cut by battery power. I've still not been able to estimate how long you can play music without charging the battery, but sure long enough for my daily home-work-home way walking so that's what I wanted them to do and after a week of use, I still don't see the red light on the battery indicator.

Power off "THUMP thump !" ... (try a pair and you'll see what I mean ^_^)

I've had my thump 2 for more than three years now and they still turn heads and stares whenever I wear them. It was a quite expensive though since you could buy an Apple Shuffle and a Frogskin for the same price but it is such a unique piece that i couldnt resist to have one. Its Gascan frame is also made for smaller heads (my head seems to be big) so I just wear them for short periods only. just recently the volume in one of the stems just conked out. When I went to the Authorized Oakley service center to have it repaired, I was informed that the Thump 2 was already phased out and that it could not be repaired anymore. i could still use it though, i just could not make the music louder or softer though. Over all it still is a cool piece for a collector.

Got a gift certificate for Christmas, so I used it to chip away at the price of this pair. I had the original Thump and used that for a while, but this one does fit much nicer. The Gascan style usually doesn't fit me all that well, but the addition of a small strip of unobtainium does help.

The ear stems have 3 joints which allow for precise placement as well as angle so you can channel the music into your ears without actually sticking them into them. This way they stay nice and clean, and you don't end up ruining your hearing over it. It's also more comfortable and allows for some ambient noise to come in, which for safety's sake, is a good thing.

The sounds is as clear as the original, and the interface is exactly the same, so no learning curve here. I wish the Brown Smoke came in a higher memory option, but it will do until I get the Pro with 1 Gb.

Frame: jet black red icon 512MB pascha edition
Lens: black iridum & yellow PACHA logo's

this thump is a limited edition pascha model. there's 512 Mb music already on it, mixed by the DJ who's the king of the pascha. The sound is extra-ordinary, it could use more bass, but with the limited speaker capacity it is an overall good sound.
usability is great, left for volume, right for track choices etc.
the red icon gives it an agressive look, fit is good, not excellent. i wish it would be more oval wrapped. All in all, an improvement over Thump one, especially with the yellow lenses for dark light use

I really like the Thump2! The design might be a a little bit to simple and fashion oriented for a lot of people, but it's still a very unique and bold design.
The comfort in which you can walk around without cables tangling and earpieces falling out is just perfect. It's very comfortable to wear and the earbooms are very well adjustable.
The sound is very good, didn't expect it to perform so well!

All and all it is a very nice product for those who tend to spend a lot of money on gadgets like these! I sure do!

I really like this colorway a lot. The brown smoke is nice because you can see the internal components of the thump. The bronze lens is a really nice combination to the frame. The sound of the thump 2 is nice and the wears very comfortably.

Frame: Brown Smoke
Lens: Titanium Iridium / Gold Clear

I have both Thumbs and both are nice sunglasses with good and negative points.

The Thump two has

- not-enough-curved stems (with unobtainium), the earphones provide the music AND the fit
- I wonder why the stems do not "click" like the gascan (and Oil Drum f.e.) ones, they're very loose
- no unobtanium for the nose

+ changeable lenses
+ good earphones, better sound than T1 and it's easier to fit them into the ear

I prefer the Thump 2 at the moment, but I expect a very nice
Thump Pro... half framed, with changeable lenses and nice earphones. Maybe they add some unob this time, but if it's really the Bottlecap frame it may also fit nice without unob!

yes the first zero rating. 60 days after recieving the glasses i started having problems. the play button stuck and played until the battery died. i sent them in and a 'flex circuit' and batter was replaced. not a week later the play button stuck again. i sent them in for the second time and 4 WEEKS! later electronics dept called saying i need a 'flex circuit' replaced b/c they found water damage. i use them when i exercise. and exercising causes excessive sweating which is not covered under warranty. so i pretty much flushed $335 down the drain.

I was looking for a decent mp3 player when i came across these beautys, and to say i am still impressed, is an understatement.
there is only 1 problem with them, when i wear mine it.. feels like i have lost my guide dog when i wear them out.
but saying that, i still want to get other colours as i love them so much.
trust me if you need a new mp3 player then get these..
no wires to get caught up in zips or wrapped around door handles that could ruin ya mp3 player or wires.and you will think why didnt i get these sooner.
A must buy if you are on the look out for a new mp3 and pair of sunglasses.!
the sound is great and getting music on them is so easy a baby could do it.!!

Since the release of the Original Thump I wanted a pair, but the price was always a restriction. Being an owner of a few iPod's also slowed me down. But eventually i broke down and picked up a pair.
The Thump 2 being based on the Gascan was perfect giving them a harder edge, the booms are really adjustable making for a really good fit. Sound quality is awesome though I would like a little more bass (Personal preference) The ease of use is helpful and with awesome comfort you can't go wrong. I'd highly recommend these for walking most of all, perfect little partner with no headphone leads getting in the way.

Well, what can you say about these glasses! They are very comfortable, and actually look suprisingly good (although I do recommend trying them on first). The sould quality is very good, and battery life is perfect for its use. It fits really securely on your head, with the earbuds in place, and I have had no hesitations using it for sport. Definitely worth purchasing, and you will use it far more than you imagine!

I really like the way you can adjust the ear booms on these. For some reason though, the Thump 1 fit my face a little better. Like the frame sits better than the thump 2. Maybe they can make a Thump 3 with adjustable booms and flip up lenses.

From what I've experienced so far they are awesome. So much more comfortable than any other mp3 player. A lot more flex in the earstems.

Not bad for a followup to the original Thump. Sound quality is great and the unobtainium on the earpieces make it fit better (thereby enhancing sound) than the original Thump. I would've liked bigger and more spaced out buttons, though. The fact that there are replacement lenses for it make it a more attractive model. It feels sturdier than the original Thump, which is a big plus.

These are definitely new but I'm still not crazy about the style. The new boom design is nice but still doesn't fit in my ears any better than T1. The LED indicator and new buttons have a better feel...while I'll rock these for a while - still gonna have to have the T1 Tribals....

Thump 2.0 is the best we ever had. Sound quality is better. Ear booms ajust several different ways. They will fit small heads. Battery LED light and best of all seek forward. get them ASAP and enjoy!

What a big improvement versus the Thump 1.0. The earboom is much much more flexable and comfortable. Instead of just the Telescopic and swivel action, the Thump 2.0's earboom has all the flexability that will adapt to any face. I am really impressed about the earboom and the tickness of the earstem. I am still not satisfied with the bass action of the sound system. I still give it a 5 because I am just trully amazed at the earboom action
