If anything if his has caught my attention, it's that. Wonder if it's restricted in my state.

Bathgate's SMV3 or Snatch Vessel (lmao) is up for pre-order. What a cool mechanical piece. $3,500 for brass/ss and $3,700 for all ss:

And the three vessels he's produced so far next to each other:

I know some of you follow Chris Bathgate’s work. I missed checking on the signup sale for the SPG. Does anyone know the pricing on the piece?

I believe I spotted $1,500 on today’s extra’s signup form. Those are pretty neat pieces, quite larger than many of his other fidget series pieces.

$1,375 for the upcoming Bathgate’s NC-3. Pretty cool the way the mini sculptures use magnetics and modularly pieces together:

Yep, that's awesome! I think that price is almost a bargain actually. Considering all of the pieces and time it takes to make each one.

NFTs. I just don't get it, the popularity. One NFT digital artwork (or a collection of them) went for $69M+. I don't know if its just speculators or if this digital artwork ownership thing is a viable thing. Either way, time to do some short term investing:

Yep, I don't either. I like having things digitally - I have TBs of files of stuff I keep, take screenshots of, etc just to have it for posterity and for the "collection." Still nothing better than being able to see it in person and hold it in your hand.

This sort of helped me wrap my head around them, not that I really still understand the mentality though.

The first few seconds of that video expressed my feelings very succinctly: There are some mediocre and generic artwork selling for thousands of dollars as NFTs when it previously would’ve struggled to sell as $20 prints. ::shrug:: Not sure what’s happening with the market, but I suppose it’s providing us an opportunity to make money, so let’s go with it.

The one good point he made was the analogy of buying an expensive painting, only to have it in a climate controlled environment where you can never see it. You have the privilege of owning it, but only until someone else buys it to store it away in turn.

Suppose in some way, I get nervous having a lot of my vintage pieces out in the open. I already had to hide my clear boxes away since even my Supreme Frog box started getting sickly yellow.

I said it in another thread I just don't get it, and it must be because I'm old. LOL

Yeah the whole NFT thing is mindboggling to me. Maybe that I'm just too old to get it. I just don't get how it's "unique" to just me when it's completely digital and can just be copied/posted anywhere. For example, the 'Nyan Cat' GIF fetched nearly $500,000 and that thing is everywhere!

Hilarious! I can actually see that bringing in big $ compared to some of the stuff that's selling nowadays.

I'm hoping someone registers one of those old Geocities animations on the blockchain and then sell it just to see reactions.

That’s about $5M worth of art right there. Well, based on the following gif that brought in $500k:
