I don’t recall if there’s been a thread on here about this, but I’ll start one anyway.

What products did you initially dislike but learned to like as time went on?

For me:

1. C Six: I mostly didn’t like the C Six when it was first introduced. I’ve always liked the engineering aspect to it but didn’t like to aesthetics of it. I’ve learned to appreciate it as time went on. I still wouldn’t wear it, but I do appreciate its place in Oakley history and as a collectible in the hobby.
2. M Frame/Blade/Razor Blade: I previously didn’t appreciate the M Frame/Blade/Razor Blades, which is odd since the first Oakley eyewear I ever got (as hand-me-downs in the late ‘80s) was the Blades. Still, like the C Six, I’ve learned to appreciate their form as art, their high performance functionality, and their place in Oakley history.
3. Watches: I grew up loving mechanical watches. When message boards hit the big time in the ‘90s and more and more people started discussing all ranges of topics, I kinda developed the snobbery that comes along with the hobby as well (ie. Anything without mechanical movements are trash). I’ve always thought Oakley’s watches are novelty watches; great for the brand collectors but not for the real enthusiast. I still think that, but I’ve learned to love how cool and absolutely unique Oakley watches are even if they are not collector grade timepieces.
4. Frogskins: A clone of the Wayfarer, I only developed a love of them when they got re-issued in 2007. While I don’t find them interesting as collectibles anymore, I think they look great on most people and I might even wear a pair if the mood strikes every so often.

Good thread Oak. I'm going to have to think about this for a little bit and maybe post my own list.

Gascan- when they first arrived I thought it was a generic style because everyone had them. Then the London Police was released and I had to have it. After wearing it a while it was comfortable and they soon released the 3D editions. I had to have those too. All these years later and it’s the model that I have the second most of, plus I’m trying to collect every polarized lens available for it.

Xmetal... I initially thought they were clunky ugly pieces of shit. But then I tried a few on, not bad provided you get ones that suit you.

I will NOT wear a Penny or a Juliet, though.

That temple scraping by the earstems can be rough. I have a few, but seldom wore them even before they became overly expensive.

The Razor Blade with the trigger ear stems never appealed to me at all up until a few years ago when I saw someone wearing a pair in a photo, and in an instance, I though, how cool are these, and had to get a pair.

I'm going to bash the new stuff. I think Lux is going over the top (no pun) with the "militaryesque" design and a lot of the new frames (in my opinion) look more like cheap safety glasses with cool lenses. I like most of the older stuff which will mainly be displayed but worn proudly on they day they are taken out.
