I thought the King and God watches were different, but apparently Greg Gutierrez says they are the same. I also didn’t realize that it featured a ETA/Valjoux 7750 until now. According to Greg:

“It’s really cool. Hans and I worked closely on that watch. I had 3 prototypes of it built in Switzerland. “

The pic of the King’s rotor from Greg:

Not yet, unfortunately. Not many outside the design group have seen it and even less have pics. Hopefully one day we’ll get to see it.

Yep, the sub-dial and day-date layout is very much ETA 7750:

Interesting looking watch. I could imagine the price if it was made.

A forum posts resulting from information gathered at Red Day in 2013

One of the reasons The God watch is so expensive (over 90k from what I was told) is that each individual link is different. There were multiple parts to each and its really a puzzle to put together just the band of the watch. I dont know much about the internal workings but as time goes by I hear a little piece here and there. -FearGearGarage

Looks like $92,000 was the official number. I recall Jim stating that he provided the specs and said spare no expense. He was a little surprised at the cost, but said it wouldn't have stopped him from making it even if he knew prior.

I also remember seeing pieces of it in R&D back in 2005 before that room really got locked down. I'm surprised I even got walkthrough.

My understanding is that number was the development cost for the pieces built in Switzerland.

Much much lower than $92k.

The bigger question is. Who has one...besides Jim.

About 10 years back, JJ posted a pic of a Detonator-like watch with a metal band on one of his websites. Does anyone have a copy of that picture? I'm not sure if that pic is the same as the one from the recent FB post, but I find it interesting that we saw the KING a long time ago and just didn't realize it.

Nonsensical and random rumour starting time: JJ is starting his own watch brand and calling it Montre Rouge. Pass it along.

That is a cool watch. Several elements from many other watches of that time present. Wonder why they didn't make a run of that.

It was just too expensive to make, even a small run. $15k+ MSRP is quite a bit of change back in the mid-2000s. I don't think anyone would've been interested in paying that much money back before the O-Review existed.
