I wonder if that gold leaf stuff they sell in craft stores would work. I still need to pick up a soft vault and try and cover that in gold. Someday.

They look pretty perfect to me. I love them!! I also really like the Ti/Polished XX's. I think that would look awesome with Ice lenses. That project definitely took balls. Nice work.

Cal, you must walk funny, 'cause something like this takes a lot of balls. Good luck! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Cal just curious. Was it a conscious decision to use polished orbitals, or was it just you had a spare polished frame and no spare plasma frame?

Either way looks awesome. Have you riveted it back together yet??

Thanks guys, GUTS and the right tools! It took a lot of patience and thinking. I have been planning this since last September.

The original rivet was preserved and was put back in place. A 2 part metal epoxy was used and is still curing to hold the rivets back in place. This epoxy is hidden in the inside surface of the nosebridge therefore no blemish can be seen in the front and at the same time the flex between the nosebridge and orbitals was not affected

I had a spare polished J when I finally recieved the Emerald Ichiros the other day and this made up my mind to do it. But I was seriously thinking of using Plasma or Titanium. Yeah the decision making took a long time.

The polished/24K combo made the Juliet looked a little different from the 24K XX. On the XX side, there is not a lot of contrast between Plasma and polished but still made the XX have that custom look.

I would like to have more info on the Limited edition Corvette edition Cal.

Its not in the database here I think.

There is probably none available anywhere, I am just curious about them.

Lets had them to the database.

Actually it's in the data base listed as a Japanese Limited Edition. 24K/Carbon combo

Here's the thing about the 24k Juliet: It was initially created to celebrate the Corvette's 50th anniversay and was released in 2003, I think. The first 50 were given to the Corvette race team and their members (which is now known as the LE). After the Corvette LE stage, it appearently became a Japanese exclusive. It subsequently went onto become an OPD exclusive.

Very, very nice mate!
Just curious, is that a G26 lens on the 2nd shelf down under all of the x metals?

Thanks Adam, good eye there and yes it is G26. Although I don't go shooting much, it's still nice to have... Nice to have just to look at for display. Just like for most of our Oakleys. (we don't need or use, but just nice to have or to look at=)
