I like the first two Nanowires. I'm not sure I'll be getting either of them, but they look good. It's basically a Why 8.0/8.1 but with Whisker earstems.

Thanks Dann. Any idea if the the New Square Wire: Titanium/Tungsten Iridium Polarized is still in the works or is that being replaced with the Olive Chrome version listed above?
I was actually expecting something a little more dramatic for the Nanowire designs. But I guess it's about the material, memory metal, and not so much about being OTT. Well I guess the 3.0 rimless-shield isn't that typical.

The 1.0 & 2.0 Nanowires remind me of Maui Jims, but they certainly have a place in the lineup.

There's enough O-Matter color to keep me happy. I love the Hijinx and am happy they decided to go with gunmetal icons instead of gold on the tortise ones. I'm also happy the Splatter pair will be a BLOC account exclusive coloway to make them kinda special. Also, wasnt the Bruce Irons Sig one supposed to have Text on the frame?

Thanx Dann!

Thanks Dann! I like the last two nano wires, but the rest of the stuff is boring I think, especially the Hijinx. Maybe I just got my hopes up after seeing the sketche from the community page of the Oakley site.

thanks for the new info Dann!

so it looks like the new Polarized lenses come with a backside A/R coating... interesting. also like Dan said, i'd be interested in a Titanium/Tungsten Square Wire but it looks like they replaced it with the Olive Chrome. i'll still try it anyway.

the Nanowires do look like the Why 8 series except with Whisker earstems like Oak says. the 1.0 and 2.0 look pretty standard (or is it pedestrian) but i'll be trying the 3.0 when it comes out. maybe it'll be the first shield lensed Oakley that'll fit me.

All 3 look like Maui Jims, and with them all being polarized as a standard option I'd bet Maui is their prey here. The best selling Mauis and Revos we have are the Ti Sport/Flexon (MJ) and Stainless Steel (Revo).

I gotta say, we heard a lot of hype about 07 and dont get me wrong, I luv this brand name but really nothing blowing my skirt up yet :( IMHO, most of this is like rehash of other brands, other than my fav so far, my +red radar... 8]

As a matter of fact, that is exactly the target/reason why Nanowires are coming. We're going directly after them. Let the war begin !

Glad you got it in time cuz it's discontinued. It's been replaced by VR28 Black Iridium.

I'm with Ford. Hijinx and Nanowire 3.0. Crystal Black Hijinx & Polished Black Nanowire 3.0's. Only thing I don't like about the Nanowire family is that they're all polarized & titanium, which should equal a nice high price.

Thanks for the info Dann, anyone else notice that with the exception of the Hijinx they all come with torpedo cases, a welcome step in the right direction for the pricier pairs I think!

Nice that they all come in cases, but I'm sure after a while, they'll start piling up, and I'd be happier shaving of $30 to avoid getting another case I don't need.

Beat me to it Alex! And note that while they "look like" whisker stems, they are a memory metal a Oakley version of flexon if you will. They have more “memory” than a MJ Beta Titanium, and have more style than a Beta or flexon(Betas are just flat and thin, MJ flexons are just thin and round).

While most of us here feal that way Dan, its a common complaint from customers. "I am spending $200 + on these and I don’t get a case! You should throw one in!" "Maui Jim comes with a case!" So after years of trying to explain that the Maui Jim case is not really “free” tada, high end Oakley now come with a case, and just like Maui Jim dose, it raises the price $30. (No I did not make that up the price of Maui Jim’s are inflated $30 to cover that crap case you get with them.)

They have more “memory” than a MJ Beta Titanium
Beta Titanium isn't considered Flexon or memory metal. It's just a springy curved hingless stem. I wouldn't do to them what you can do with Flexon. Now do the Nanowires have a hinge as Flexon frames do or are they set up like the Beta Ti?

salesmanvoice : Now you’re not paying for just a "Rimless Wire" your paying for a premium lens with the hydrophobic coating and HDO, and a premium frame material Nanowire memory metal.:[/salesmanvoice]

LOL you know you want one! =)
