Yeah, the DF1/2 - 1.0/2.0 is a community-assigned label. I tend to just use Brown vs Blue since that causes less confusion.

Looks like my last update was in 2008 with a jewel of Oakley Goggle and Slit lens, with a grail of the last Slash's and Sub's I needed.

Update:

Crown Jewel:
Flying Tiger Oil Rig Prototype
Crystal Black/Grey M Frame Strip

Then if I could lump collections, I'd mention the Complete Sub's, Slash's, Grips and all the Stretchline I have.

Holy Grail:
Square Wire 2.0 30mm - Yes an odd one for a grail, but these are the things I chase for years on end.

Hard for me to say but I think right now I would classify my Scelzi trio as the crown jewel of my collection. As for my grail piece, at the moment, as it has been for quite some time, a pair of the flyin mater Straight Jackets

For those who have plenty of money and need to fill there holy grail spot, I found this on the UK ebay site i wont be buying 1 of these if they are going for prices like this.

Seems like 700-800 without goggles is standard, and 1300 with goggles. Not that I agree they are worth that, but it seems to be the trend.

I like to re-visit this thread from time to time, and see what has changed. I was going to put the Square Wire 30mm on my grail list, but apparently I already had that listed the last time I posted. Guess that's going to be an annoying one to snag.

For crown jewels I may swap it to my Grip I and II's with their boxes that are in fairly good condition.

I guess at the moment my crown jewel would be my Madman Raw or Pit Boss I. For a grail piece I would have to say C-Six and maybe Pit Boss Ducati edition.

Hmm

My love for Oakley has (for varying reasons) fizzled out a little over this last year. It's actually been just over a year since my last purchase.

My one aim was to collect the full TDF collection by buying the releases every year, but, this and last years models are/were kind of 'meh' and not really limited I haven't bothered with them.

I'd still like to complete my Gen 1 M Frames. I have carbon fibre, fingerprint and a couple more really rare ones to go but until my job/money situation improves then this isn't going to happen.

I do like the look of the new Radar EV's and think the Jawbreakers are interesting and loving the Uranium colours, I'd be interested in the fingerprint range too

Aside from sports models the rest of the new releases doesn't interest me as they are too big for me, I was hoping for the Badman to be more Juliet in size but alas it's bigger so I won't be getting them.

Talking of the new X Metals, lurking on here and the other forum I just don't get the fuss being made about them not being Xmetal, they look good and fit right in with the xmetal design. I also don't get the point of spending so much on the ltd pair just to get a serial number. Crazy.

Oops, needed to get that off my chest I think!

Anyway, back on topic.

Crown Jewels

Full BMX chrome collection

Nearly complete Gen1 M's
All the rarer tdf editions

Holy Grails

"Life's been good to me so far..."

As a wire guy, I've managed to acquire my Crowns:
A-wire platinum/gold iridium polarized.
OO A-wire platinum/Leather Gold iridium.
OO E-wire platinum/Leather Gold iridium.
OO wire gold oxide/Leather Gold iridium.

After getting "Jacketed" with a polished black/silver ghost text Windjacket that I have really taken to, I guess my Grail could be the Echelon Jawbone.

On a timeline long enough, I can see myself slowly acquiring some or all of the older Oakley frames that I like, such as Eye Jacket, Straight Jacket, Racing Jacket, Minute & Twenty. I'd add the Unknown since it looks almost like it was carved out of stone ...

Given the range above, one could agree that many are still available in various condition at any given time. So it is not so pressing to liquidate all my assets at once. Still, a few stand out that seem quite elusive to me - Electric Mustard Twenty & Red Tiger Stripe Racing Jacket w/Black Iridium. Both mint condition and with box. I'll add not having to pay eleventy-billion dollars for each pair. Its one thing to get what you want, but paying over a certain price can take away any sentimental victory just attaining them would bring.

Onward I march ...

The condition aspect is the one that becomes harder and harder to attain. Best case scenario, a collector had it in a case for years and then helps out another collector. But more realistically someone finds the pair they played baseball in during the summer of '95 in their closet and don't bother to wipe dried sweat off before it goes on ebay for triple retail.

I'm about 30 odd pair away from all pre-2005 models which seems like a lot, but by my counts there's about 150 total, so that's not too bad.
