Your idea sounds perfect for any other person, but I think you give BMCaps way too much credit. He's been like this for a long time now, despite more nice e-mails being sent to him from other members in the past.

Let me put my feelings about him into a metaphor. I have always been a huge fan of the Camaro. Stems back to when I was a wee child. I dreamed of driving my own Electric Blue Z28 with T-Tops. As I grew older, I noticed that a certain number of Camaros fell into the hands of people that felt it necessary to ruin the car by adding ugly hood scoops, terrible mag wheels, and ridiculous body kits. Sadly, the Camaro has come to represent something quite different from its earlier ancestors, and we have those that desecrated them to thank. It pains me to see what BMCAPS is doing on a LARGE SCALE to the Oakley brand with his monstrous custom hack jobs. If he was selling one pair of glasses each month, it wouldn't be a big deal. But, sadly, his crap seems to appeal to a number people out there. Probably the same people that ruined the Camaro. If he continues to tarnish the prestige of the Oakley brand I fear Oakley could meet the same fate as the poor Camaro.

When Total O was churning out his wares back in the day, I remember seeing BMCAPS bidding up every pair of his glasses. Every pair! No lie. He won two, but bid up every pair. No intention of winning obviously, but no intention of letting the collectors out there snag a deal. Not illegal, but really exposed him to me as someone who takes away from the fun of this hobby. For that, and the multitude of other crap he pulls, he will forever be on my personal shitlist. And, he called my coffee mug stupid.

We keep hearing fair market, but he's only in the 'market' to capitalize off things we like. I'm all for a capitalistic society, but these things usually also involve risk and costs as well. Snapping up all the deals you can find, to redistribute them to the same market having done little more than receive them at your home, then copy and paste the listing you just bought it from isn't really beneficial. It puts a little money in his pocket, but also assures that no one else will ever get a good deal.

If people want to leave the site, that's fine, we're not really hurting for members, and things have been pretty smooth lately. Maybe the market calls for another Oakley fan site, but then again no one else wants to put in the thousands of hours to date that it took to build this thing, so since there's no fee involved, all we ask in return is a little camaraderie between members. For the record, if any member here pulled a fast one here, I'd far from want it to be withheld (via PM preferably) since I wouldn't consider that person to be what we consider a good member.

Yes he's not worth our effort, but that's why we're not honestly trying to do anything about the situation, it will still go on, and he will still make his money.
