I'm not sure if this is the right thread. But anyway, I plan to buy a custom pair of Jawbreakers for cycling.

Up to now I use Jawbones/Racing Jackets and have a big range of lenses to choose from. I will buy a Prizm Road lens for sure because I lack this lens tint. But I guess this one is only for bright days and I don't know what lens tint to take for cloudy or partly cloudy days. I liked the following for my JB/RJ depending on the weather:

Clear Black Transition - not available in custom or without the frame
Yellow - not available at all
Persimmon - Is Prizm Trail like Persimmon?
G30 - There is a Prizm Golf replacement lens. Is this the new G30? And has anybody used it for cycling yet?

What two lens tints would you choose for cycling if one should be for bright days and the other for cloudy ones?

It looks like Jade Prizm Polarized will be offered soon, atleast from the looks from this picture so is wait to see what those look like :)

Each Prizm is sort of a tuned version of a classic lens.

Prizm Road is a better +Red
Prizm Trail is like H.I. Persimmon
Prizm Golf is like G30
Prizm Salt Water/Fresh Water is like Deep Blue/Shallow Blue
Prizm Daily is like OO Grey Polarized

I would opt for Prizm Trail for low light, since Clear is the only other lighter one and that is limited to very low light.

I wish they would make a H.I. Yellow

I didn't see it as a replacement option, but perhaps I missed it.

I like this comparison. I have been a bit shy of Prizm despite the info available mainly because of the sheer price point. It didn't make much sense to purchase a lens like Prizm unless one knows where it fits. One of my reservations lies with the difference between Prizm Daily, Prizm Road or Prizm Outfield. For example, would putting Red Iridium on Prizm Daily make it a Prizm Daily Red Iridium Polarized or a Prizm Road Polarized? Likewise with using Torch Iridium; would it them be a Prizm Outfield Polarized? I guess the naming conventions are throwing me off a bit.

I believe each base is unique, and then the iridium is for cosmetic reasons. I feel like that's going to bite them in the end, as the TR## line fortunately has Black and Titanium Iridium options with the normal naming schemes, but Road *only* had +Red, and the Baseball ones *only* have Torch. I'm not sure what will happen if Prizm Road becomes more popular but people don't want a vibrant lens. Trail might be okay since it's similar to Persimmon, but the three water Prizms are all over the place.

I noticed a Photochromic Jawbreaker in an O Store last night. I think it was a custom the staff put together; a customer was actually asking about that lens, and they pointed it out to them.

From personal experience, I believe you only need 1 lens to accomplish that, not 2...

I only use PRIZM Road in my Jawbreakers on my roadie... every Jawbreaker I have, (5) now, have PRIZM Road... and it doesn't bother me. The only other lens I use on my roadie is +Red; and that was in my Radarlock & Racing Jacket (Jawbone), and I now have PRIZM Road lenses for each of those. Same with my RadarEV, and now my EVZeros. I ride and run with this lens in the evening as the sun is setting and don't have problems; if you need a lens for night riding, go with clear as I don't believe HI Yellow is available yet (still); when I purposely ride or run at night, I use my Radarloxk with HI Yellow.

If you're going to ride trails on the Mtn Bike, PRIZM Trail is you answer; but I would not use my Jawbreakers on the trail (personal opinion). I don't feel there's enough Unobtanium on the stems to keep them in place with all the bumps. I love trail running with this lens in my RadarEV; and I recently ordered the PRIZM Trail lens for my Racing Jacket, for riding on the trails.

I would not ride on the road or the trail with PRIZM Golf, it's tuned for the green, green grass of the golf course.

Hope that helps...

Thanks for your advice. In the meantime I got a custom pair of Jawbreakers with a prizm road lens. Although the weather was horrible (rainy and grey) I wore them several times and they are just great. Maybe I get myself the clear black photochromatic ones but that should be all I need when it comes to lens tints.

I'm seeing a lot of comparisons to SLR lenses when people get started. At first there's a desire to have an array of lenses that covered every possible focal length with no gaps, but then later you realize that a select few will do the job since they can be versatile.

Has anyone removed the pin/screw that holds the piece that hinges to adjust earstem length? I am wanting to switch some parts around but don't want to damage glasses without knowing how to do it or if it can be done successfully.

If it can be removed does it become loose/susceptible to falling out when reinserting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
