Looks exciting. Looking forward to the Pit Boss and Square X. Skipping out on the Elite. No sunglass is worth that much to me. All in all, I can't wait to see what they all look like.

Wow. Square X sounds like something we heard rumblings of years ago. Should be interesting.

Pit Boss is Elite, and not as much. And based on the Splice, so I'm in rough shape.

If it's Splice-ish, there will be a lot of poor people in a couple months. They should ask for a bailout package....

Hope the colourways involve a lot of coloured iridium rather than just the normal black and browns.

Pit Boss:
Matte Black/Titanium / Black Iridium Polarized
Polished Black/Gunmetal / VR28 Black Iridium Polarized
Matte Rootbeer/Bronze / Tungsten Iridium Polarized

My poor wallet. Don't think finances at this point would support it though.

Just cross your fingers that it isn`t really Splice-like. LOL.

It's just coming out in May, Dann. No reason they can't toss a few your way in your goody bag at the pilot event.

"Here, Splice guy. Try these out and let us know what you think..."

The idea of owning the Splice Goggles went out the window with the 30 combo's they seem to have.

Good call Paul

You gotta be kidding me. $560? This is gonna hurt. I'm hoping it looks as ugly as a love child of Sandra Bernhard and Nick Nolte.

I am quite excited to see what the Square X looks like though. Hope we get photos soon.

It maybe pricey but it's pretty exciting stuff.

I look forward to seeing it all even if I'll never lay my hands on any of them. At least Pit Boss seems reachable. I guess it cost that much because it's a member of the Eite line. But O-Matter and Titanium together doesn't seem to warrant that price tag.

Definitely jazzed for the new watches and the Square X!!

O-matter and titanium together ... sounds just about like a Scar, right? A $560 Scar, mind you.

I'm not here to judge, though. Just turn me over, rub my belly and let me buy stuff.

Sounds like Lux has high aspirations for churning out profit in '09. Sure, the new releases sound very interesting, but personally I think it's a stupid move to pound out high-dollar pieces like that with the economy in shambles. If disposable/discretionary income levels were at an all-time high things would be much different... but the reality of the situation dictates a much more cautious business approach. I think someone in marketing is bound to be incredibly disappointed... Just my opinion.

This reminds me of a few years back when I was in the market for a new LCD panel. Sony's XBR model was attractive, but the pricetag was simply ridiculous - to a point that I would have been able (at the time) to purchase BOTH a 46" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD panel AND a 52" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD panel... for LESS than the price of Sony's 52" XBR 1080p LCD panel. Although I would have much rather had the Sony, guess which monitor I chose? Just as Sony priced themselves out of the market, I think Oakley is beginning to do the same thing... the market simply will not bear indefinite price increases. I honestly believe that Oakley's about to learn an easy lesson the hard way.

Same deal with Canon. They did an accross the board price increase on existing lenses by a few hundred dollars in some cases. Now the new stuff coming out is going for double.

24mm/1.4 went from 1100 to 1700
24mm/TS from 900 to 2200
the new 17mm/TS debutes at 2500

Don't know how long it can last.

Dann, it will probably last just long enough for you to include one of each of those lenses in your kit.

I'm in for a Square X, TB, and maybe another watch. Thanks for the list. That is a very exciting post.

Just got the 24mm II today. Hopefully they don't update the 85/1.2 anytime soon.

I've been looking closer at the Micro/Marco as well Dann and the prices jumped $400 for the 105mm/2.8
But i am leaning to the 60mm/2.8 seems more suitable for my needs. If it wasn't for the hQ trip then i'd have it already.

I'd really suggest the 105 Macro to be honest if you can budget it. You'll get better background compression and more working distance. 60mm macro's of any type aren't the best.

oh i forgot to mention.... I have a DX Sensor so a 60mm on 35mm format = about 90mm on a DX format

(yeah yeah Nikon stuff)
I found the 105 to be to big for my possible needs. Plus the DX sensor pushed me out to around 157mm and man it's one big fat lens, and friggin heavy, but oh so lovley

I'm using a 1.6x APS-C sensor too, and the 180mm is just perfect. Just throwing my 2 cents out there. The sensor crop gives you the framing of something 1.5x longer, but it doesn't do anything about the working distance, which will give you the better background blurring. I suppose it all depends on what you intend to use it for. I'll reference this image again to show what I mean.
