Dunno if we have this thread in here but I had a question so... Now we do.

Is it common for the back of the interior of a doublewide to be mirrored?

I think they can be customized (or ordered that way)..I have seen many in the Vaults with mirrors on the sides but mine do not...

There was a prototype of the newer displays that had a mirror in the back of it, and on the old ones O-Stores hand them retro fitted with mirrors on the sides. Thats the only mirrors in the cases that I know of.

Thanks!

Didn't realize it til I got it in the basement this weekend but the back is actually mirrored. Should be a really cool effect.

At Paramus we were sent Mirrors about 2 years ago and told to install them on the interior back of the towers. When looking at the display from the interior it looks real cool and customers do not have to walk around the side to see what the eye ware looks like on them but when looking at the mirror from the back through the Plexiglas the reflection is distorted, real bad when trying to promote HDO.

Was thinking its about time to do an update of my display/collection. Havent done one in my new place and have all my stuff quite close together so nearly an "oakley room" but not quite, was thinking instead of tons of pictures might be easier to do a video?

However dunno how I go about putting that on here, as I definately dont want it anywhere near youtube or anything public. This is for VIP's eyes only.
Would it need to be under a certain file size?

please let me know your thoughts.

If you make a Youtube video unlisted, it's pretty well protected unless someone had the exact link, or you embed it.

I've decided to test this collection display video idea.
Well, it does not look exactly like I would have liked but it's still nice to see something different than the usual pictures.

I'll try something smoother and cleaner next time.

Cool video, Francois. Love them Mars.

Does anyone know the official name to this display case? It's about the same height as a Cube 3.0 but 1.5x its length/width.

Does anyone have any concrete background on this coin? It was supposedly given away HQ attendees and at the launch of the X-metals. I'd like to confirm if this is true.

I wish I did Oak. I saw that puppy on ebay and was wondering about it. It seems like it would be a cool piece to have based off of what the ebay description said. I believe it mentioned that these coins were given at the groundbreaking or grand opening of O's HQ.

The timeline could make sense, since Oakley did move into Interplanetary HQ in 1996 (I think?). The coin could've been a commemorative christening gift. But it's the X-metal logo that's got me confused. If they were christening HQ, I'd figure they'd use the regular ellipse logo since X-metal really wasn't released to the public until about February 1997 (ie. logo is fairly new and not recognized), which is why I'm wondering if the coin is just an X-metal "kickoff" gift at some launch party.

EDIT: My mistake, they moved into the Foothill Ranch HQ in early 1997.

Oakley's going wild with their cube 3.0s. We've seen the regular one, the long version, and now here's the mini cube (for lack of a better term):
