I think I'll be sitting on the fence with these for quite some time! Only in the flesh will I decide which side to fall.

I like 'em. I especially like the Polished Black ones. I've liked these ever since I first saw them, but I'm almost guaranteed they wont fit. Shame...

Sorry about the lengthy bout of negativity but I have been away for a while and needed to work it out if you know what I am saying. I took one look at them and something inside me snapped.

I'm OK now though.

What's surprising about this sunglass.. just a continuation of Oakley's fashion forays. It's time they gave sports minded people something too. The half jacket bleaghhhhhhh. M-frame dated. I sure hope I see something new on Lance.

That aside I kind of like them... the Montefrio's

I like Montefrio. I'm told that you should expect it at the end of July at the earliest.

Hey K, you don't like Zero's? Out of all the sport-specific glasses, Zero's are the only ones I'd get.

No too much open air at the top and bottom for Zero's to work for me....:(I have bad allergies.. pollen induced asthma.. shots once a week up to five prescription drugs at the peak of allergy season) Actually I tried the Unknown today after reading the members reviews and bought a pair.I assumed they wouldn't fit. Weird that the Gascan and Unknown both fit me....The Unknown is a tight wrap around the eye sockets and extremely comfortable compared to the Valve.

Its the same old story try them on.....sometimes they look awful and fit awful. Sometimes one doesn't think they'll fit and they do. I definitely will want to see the Montefrio's in person before buying. This site is a great help in deciding on whether a pair is going to be good!

Hehe, Paul, that's what I call a simplified equation! I can see where you're coming from though with their design ideas. I keep thinking about these as the topic goes on, these are definately my favourite new Stretch piece so far (from the pics at least), and I like the look of them more than most of the other fashion glasses like the Riddle. So, for me in terms of O's fashion stuff, these come a close second to Dartboards.

Having said this, I'll probably see/try them on and not like them. But I'm optimistic at the moment.

besides the stretch logo and the trim on the earstem, i don't like the Montefrio much either. i'd rather get a pair of Gascans.

I'm just hoping the Montefrio doesn't slide like the Gascan does. The stems look a little linger on it.

yeah true, Alexis... maybe they'll have a better impression in the flesh. but i did remember liking the overall shape of the Gascans from the get go, i'm not too sure of the Montefrio's styling.

Hey Lee..there's actually more probably who dislike this style and others but I just tend to not be vocal abt what I dont like cuz there are good people here who do like the new styles and I wouldnt want to be too strong in what I say-if it works for others that's great...I have mentioned though..the Montefrio..the Gascan..The Riddle..the colors(Whites and Purple..) The lenses -Many non iridium and gradients..none work for me...I am afraid the Unknown will be the last new style I buy from Oakley..I'd like to see updated XX's and Splices in new colorways or even retro ones like Metallic Sand but I am doubting that will ever happen..to me the new styles resemble a lot of the stuff I see when I shop for/with my wife and look at Prada and other fashion glasses for her

The Gascan's had great love when the first pics appeared on oakley.com. It's only when people got their hands on them and got to try them did the negative feedback start trickling in.

I think that it seems as if the Gascan has actually gotten even more love since people have come in personal contact with them. I think since they've been in stores the feedback's been more positive. But that's just my take on it.

I actually LOVE the X-Metal, Over The Top stuff Oakley does. But I will also admit that I have thought in the past that it would be cool to have something a little less OTT for certain occassions that isn't a wire. Although I'm not the biggest follower of what's hot in the fashion world I do think there are times when a "Montefrio" would be a good choice to wear. I love Oakley products and I think it's kind of cool that these other options exist.

I do hope that they keep the OTT stuff coming though, that is what I love about Oakley the most!!

Tried on the Montefrio yesterday. No real complaints ... I'm just not a cool enough pimp-daddy to be able to wear them. It sort of reminded me of wearing the new RazorBlades, a bit of a throwback. But the Montefrio certainly has more of an edge to the look.

I liked the black frame with the chrome stretch logo and metal bar at the hinge...but then it gets a bit lost with the grey lens (now Ruby, Fire, Ice would be cool, just give us some color for peet's sake!). The green tort frame was very sweet, but then the stretch logo and bar were more subdued.
