Ob had said it was the Street Shaun White grew up on. I swear that when we were at HQ someone said it was snowboard slang for a whipe out.

Hey Evan, I know what you mean about sounding like a "when I was a kid" kind of person but hey, if we all agreed there wouldnt be a discussion forum;-)

As for the origins of Montfrio as queried above see:

Some pics of the models that don't yet have images in the database (apologies if these have already been posted and I've missed them):

Olive Tortoise/Grey

Polished White/Dark Grey

Dann, full size ones for the DB can be found here, if you don't already have them lurking:

The Olives are certainly interesting... haven't been able to see them in the flesh yet though.

I can't wait to see them in the flesh. I have $100 stashed for the day I just run across them. If they'll just show up on the east coast already. Is there an official release date yet and not a broad 2 month span of when they may be released? I just hope they don't let me donw like the Gascan did.

I don't know about release dates for the US, but they're in the UK now, I know Adam said they're in the London O store and some big Stretch OPDs here have them now. My local is already sold out of the Polished White. Sounds like it could be a span thing like you suggested Phil.

I've called all my Stretch dealers and they have yet to hear about it.

I find it strange that the US market doesn't get all the new stuff first as you'd expect.

Yeah, it's so wierd these past few months (on Gascan, Saddleback and now Montefrio) where they put out the new releases in the displays to show off, have you try them on. But then they aren't for official sale yet ... such a tease!

Oakley peeps in my store today borrowing display stuff for a wakeboarding comp here. Got to try on a darker model and I like the look and feel. If I could just get stretchline status I'd have mine sooner.
