Just much love for these Oakleys:
1. Splice
2. Pitboss 2
3. Plate
4. Madman

And the waifu loves Xmetal Juliet.

Also got Wiretap for my eyeglasses.

Frame:Bronze, Dark Silver & Platinum
Lens:Titanium, Black, 24K Gold

I just love a agressive look of this frame. The "plates" around the orbitals really make this frame stand out from the norm. Very light to wear with no slipping if worn all day. Nice wrap around the eyes........Trouble is having all three I find it dificult to decide which one to wear. I JUST LOVE IT

I didn't manage to get the bronze/ti combination yet,but I got these, and I'm very impressed. The reason I didn't like these until recently, was the dark silver finish, which I had the impression that was a very cold metallic one.But once I got a pair in my hands it appears that the dark silver finish is a very mellow, warm, attractive finish, which resembles my beloved pewter. The black iridium lens fits quite well to the combo, and the whole frame is another great jacket that just refuses to leave it's grip.Right on time when I've had enough with all those gascans and square lenses.

Frame: Dark Silver
Lens: Black

This is a must for any Oakley collector. It's just a crazy and wild frame that one needs to have. I like the Dark Silver/Black combination more than the other too. The plates over the crystal base frame is nice and wild. Also the Plate engraving in the lens is a nice and unusual touch. Oakley could do that more often.

Downside is that they look a bit 90s with Minute-like shape. And they look very brutal and I won't wear them in normal life. I look too ridiculous. But the fit would be ok, it is not as big as I thought it would be.
LIEUTENANT -
Frame:Platinum
Lens: 24K gold iridium

...And this is exactly where the science fiction begins...I mean, okay, oakley released fmj coated o-matter,yeah this was good, and I kinda miss those frames, they were good quality glasses, then it was wire with C5 alloy, then it was titanium,x metal, magnesium, carbon fiber, you name it.But a frame ultrasonic welded was way too much even for the mad science department of them. But what can anybody say?The frames are so distinguished,so extraordinary, that if you're not prepared for what will follow you wearing them, then you'd better not.The
"amazed" factor at it's all time high. And while the frame along with the exoskeleton plates look bulky, they are indeed one of the lightest frames ever.I mean, how in the earth are they doing this? It's still o matter, right? How the plate isn't any heavier than the splice for example? The plates themselves, look like steel laminas of old ships with all these rivets on them, and this is what makes the frame even more extreme, plus the translucent frame, with the unnecessary though matching color coated on it,add more to the plate's extra terrestrial charm. One thing that I didn't like however are the extremely oversized icons.if those were smaller, the glasses would like less industrialized. In fact they look more like bolt heads, and since they are positioned on the temples, they make the wearer look more like Frankenstein and stuff. However,it's and insignificant detail, and certainly won't attract your attention from the frame. They fit to the head nice and tight, although I would expect some unobtainium at least on either the nose,or the earstems.Let's not forget, that no matter how outer space these are, they're still jackets. And the 24K lenses fit to them so perfect, that someone, can really not imagine of any other combination. They're the absolute mad science oakleys. On to the bronze frame now, that's kind of hard to find.

Lens: Big 24K

I bought these just as they came out over the crystal/ice Splice combo I had a crush on. Got them because of the 24K lens which are truly stunning! Wearing these is as close as being someone famous as I have ever felt do to the constant glaring you get from unknowns. I love the futuristic look, totally Oakley like (the good ol' Oakley design from back in the day I mean). I sold my Plate to a friend and just got them back, so I'm a happy camper right now.
SpliceD -
Frame: Bronze

One of Oakley's most unique frames aside from Over the Tops. Fit is perfect for larger faces and is very lightweight. A bit on the expensive side for a plastic frame, but definitely a great addition for Oakley collectors. I get a lot of interesting looks from people whenever I wear them out.

Frame: dark gray
Lens: black iridium

the moment i saw kerry king of slayer wearing these glasses, i started looking for a pair and got a hard time looking for one since its very rare, specially here in the philippines. i found one in ebay US and got my sister to ship it to me. it really cost me a lot to get these specs. these glasses are very light and comfortable to wear. love wearing it while driving since it blocks the sunlight very effectively. what i really love about the plate is that it gets a lot of attention when i wear it, people will start turning their heads and stare at your badass o-plate. very unique and aggressive design. only thing i dont like about it is that the paint fades easily and the hinges gets loosen up easily compared to my older monster dog. in summary, i highly recommend the oakley plate if you want to look different from the crowd and if you want to look evil!

Frame: Platinum

I love these glasses. They are unique. However, they look very weird on me. Friends have commented that they look better up on my head than they do on my face. Oh well, they have a place of honor in my display.
DoctorCrip -
Frame: Bronze
Lens: Titanium Iridium

Not only is the Plate extremely (and surprisingly) comfortable to wear, but it is just about the coolest and craziest-looking pair of glasses that one could want. These - no matter what color you choose - will certainly turn some heads when wearing them, so be prepared.

Frame: Dark Silver
Lens: Black Iridium

I wanted one of these ever since I saw them. I can't add much to what's already been said, except that I wish they were a touch more durable (paint somes off kinda easy). I love that these are some of the most unique shades ever designed. I love how the plates sit off the lens. I love how light they are, and comfy to wear. I love how "PLATE" is etched into the lens. To me, this is what Oakley's all about.

I would actually wear these, but probably won't as they need to last a loooong time.
TERRORISM -
Frame: Bronze
Lens: Titanium Iridium

Plate's design hails straight from the halls of Mad Science, and brings a unique look to the selection of Oakley shades. Placement of separate sections, or "plates", on the main frame of this creation results in one of the most unique styles ever conceived. The Bronze frame and Titanium Iridium compliment each other almost perfectly, and the "TITANIUM" etching in the lens differentiates this pair from its other two counterparts. As always, the frame is durable and very lightweight and the lenses provide excellent perephrial protection.

Frame: Bronze

Got this pair purely for my collection. I tried it on and it is very light, but does feel a bit uncomfortable after a while due to the lack of any unobtanium. Otherwise it looks very aggressive and the side profile is one of the best for any sunnies out there.

oakley to the max ! that's what this is, extraordinary design, lightweight materials, perfect vision, and colours that make a statement... HERE I AM .....
the fit is one of the most comfortable of all the eyewear-pieces i own.
Can't get better than this
TERRORISM -
Frame: Platinum
Lens: 24K Gold

One of the most unique designs of all Oakley sunglasses, the Plate embodies Oakely's "out-of-the-box" design language. The thick-framed pair is constructed of a main o-matter frame with additional pieces - or "plates" - of o-matter welded to it. Small "bumps" on the exoskeleton of the frame aesthetically mimic "rivets" that are seen on the Oakley display cases, making these further stand out. As bulky as the frame appears, it is surprisingly lightweight. The FMJ frame provides extra durability and 24K Gold Iridium offers excellent protection for bright conditions. My wish for these would have been unobtainium nosepieces and perhaps a bit less of a bulky frame.
LEX7 -

Taken me soo long to get them, they are simply a must for the collection just because of their weird look, saldy not really ones for me to wear as i find them a bit chunky.

These are really light and you'll definitely get some stares if you ever decide to wear them out in public. The 24k is my favorite. Love it!

Awesome! they look as they were welded together on a production line in a factory populated by a bunch of crazy people...they're suprisingly light and extremely durable, Their engineered look takes a bit of getting used to but definitely stand out on the street...which is what you really want from a prime piece of "O"

I wanted the Dark Silver but I found this to be a better combination. That futuristic aggresive look is top notch. I love the eye coverage, very lightweight(doesn't seem to sturdy but it should hold up okay)and great for driving. It definitley commands attention when seen by others.

Recently picked up a pair, gotta say they are a lot lighter than i though they were going to be, wish they were made stronger, but its still an awesome design. the 24k lenses look great in this frame.

Frame: Bronze
Lens: Ti Iridium
Only recently did I get my Plate since I was scared away by the high price tag when it was released some years back. It was one of those pairs that seemed awesome in pics, and then when I tried it on I was like "What the hell is this?". But, from a collection-point of view, I have to say this is an incredibly cool piece to have. It has a style all its own and brings diversity to the Oakley lineup. Luckily, they are still available quite easily and for far less online than the original $185 or so. Definitely worth picking up. Might not get a lot of use, but it does fit nicely and it is super light so you could wear it for a prolonged period. I prefer this colorway over the rest, but they are all quite cool.
jumpman73 -
Frame: Dark Silver
Lens: Black Iridium

This is a really cool design. I don't think its as crazy as the OTT but its still a really cool style. The eye coverage is excellent and the frame is very lightweight even though they don't look like it. These will make you look like a robot.

Only one thing to say: pure oakley. One remark mine did had one def. the icon was loose. sometimes it fell of the frame.

Good thing I sold my Plates. They have no padding like other Oakleys. They hurt your head after wearing them for a while.
E-Mailman -
Frame: Bronze

The design is cool, and the lense is not bad. It feels cheap though because of the plastic frame. However my coworker says it suits him better because he has a shaved head. With the Oakley, it makes me stand out from the crowd.
Ofan -
Frame: Dark Silver
Lens: Black Iridium

I love this pair, it's just so futuristic looking. It's light and great eye coverage. Too bad I don't have it, being married of course takes compromise. I had my friend Jumpman73 pick me up a pair of Scar at his local O Vault so I'm good.
absolutmuah -
Frame: bronze with black iridium lenses and silver with titanium iridiumlenses

once i figured out how to change the lenses on these beasts, they became my favourite pair all over again.
aggressive, rare on the streets and totally unique for now at least

love them to bits.

Ijon__Tichy -
Frame: Bronze
Lens: Titanium Iridium

These are hard to rate.. let me explain:
1. They look strange and a bit cheap (the plastik dots..).
2. They're expensive.
3. The lenses are very small -> the lens coverage is not good.

BUT
The design is... to crazy and nice - you cannot dislike them.

So...if you want to look like super hero - get a plate.

If you collect oakleys - you have to get this unique piece.

If you just want good sunglasses - buy any other oakley.

this was my first plate, i loved the design. the framecolour is still not as flashy as the platinum , but is a good runner-up. the black iridium is one of the darker lenstints, but for bright days it is perfect. together, both colours match very well.

for me , this product is what's oakley all about , radical design ,very comfortable fit, and good colourcombinations. the frame colour bronze is a very distinguished colour, together with the near perfect lenstint, titanium , this combination is almost unbeatable. if you want to start out with a plate, get this colourcombo

I just picked these up at my Vault store about a week ago! I couldn't say no for the price! They remind me of a much more artistic Scar in their shape. Since there are only 3 in the entire collection, I hope to someday grab the other two!

Just got these the other day, and finally had a chance to wear them for the first time in South Florida in 95 degree heat. OK, the lenses are definately the best color lens I have ever worn, the frame is light. I wore these 6 hours straight, and had no problems. Perfect glasses for all occasion, they're alittle flashy, but isnt that what it's all about.
jumpman73 -
Frame: Bronze
Lens: Titanium Iridium

The color combination on these is awesome. The bronze really adds to the design of the frame making you look more like a borg. The use of the Ti iridium really matched up well with the bronze frame color. Eye coverage is excellent. One thing I don't like is that you can see the "PL" from the outside of the frame. The "PL" is from the "PLATE" on the inside of the earstem.
jumpman73 -
Frame: Platinum

Awesome pair of shades. Real aggressive design yet expected from Oakley. I like wearing these b/c it looks like I have a piece of machinery on my eyes. The one drawback is that they aren't as sturdy as they look. But they are light b/c of that.

A really cool eyewar!! Simply amazing!! Diferent from all the others, the Plates are for people who wants to be diferent in the crowd. Plates definitely have style!!
Very confortable and light.
Fits better in people who have a large cranium.

Frame: Platinum
Lens: 24k Gold Iridium

An extremely awesome pair. Love the agressive look, unique styling that sets it apart from every other pair.

However, there is one thing that seriously bugs me about these that, amazingly, no one else has mentioned.
The embossed "Made in U.S.A." and "Plate" on the stems show through on the other side. That particular fact drives me CRAZY!

Frame: Dark Silver

I love how these look!- Aggressive, cyber industrial, 3D...
I willingly took the plunge, and unfortunately got ripped off the 1st time : Be warned that there are loads of knockoffs of this design out there...
When I got the real items in my hands, I was initially disappointed-They just don't exude quality like other Oakley shades do-The painting, construction, see-through stamping, etc.-a lot of loose ends in the complicated design/construction, and the paint doesn't wear so well-chips and scratches easily & obviously.
On the postive side, they are great glasses, very animated OTT design, weigh nothing, and draw no small amount of attention-Try not to look like a battle robot when you wear these! These have grown on me in time, and as I don't worry about them getting worn or damaged like spendier models, I wear them more and more.
Collectible, aggressive, good, but not great.

If you can't be a Rock Star, might as well look like one. I was so excited to try these when they first came out, but they were way too extreme for me. Recently, I thought I better pick one up for the collection and wouldn't you know it, I love them. Yeah, they are a bit much, but they are in a class all on their own. I particularly like the side profile of these. The earstems look remind me of swords. I love the icon on the temple. It looks right out of Mad Max and I love it! I love taking a chance and having it pay off.

Frame: Dark Silver

Yet another style that didn't appeal to me the first few times I saw it. However, as my collection has grown, I have come to appreciate all of the bold and unique styles like this. The welded plates over a clear "skeleton" of O-Matter create a look that has never been duplicated.

The 'PLATE' etching on the left lens is also a nice touch. I am not aware of any other styles that have the actual model name etched on the lens.

Since the first time I ever heard about these I knew that I wanted them. I heard they were going to be made out of segmented plate. It just sounded OTT and I wanted to see how they were going to pull this off. Well I think they pulled it off quite well. They might not be the most practical pair of Oakleys but they are definitely an awesome addition to any collection.

I didn't really understand these glasses at first but then I saw how they were constructed & how they looked on and then just like that, much like looking through Oakley lenses, everything became clear to me.

Frame: Platinum

I was never a fan of Plates. They fitted me fine but I just couldn't get used to the look. It almost seemed like they were too busy on the surface, but then I guess that's the idea. Certainly very eyecatching, though not to my personal taste.
TheVault -
Frame: Platinum
Lens: 24k Gold Iridium

The best color combination in one of the best models for wider faces, including the Monster Dog and the Romeos or xx Metal models.

They are so lightweight, the techo design of the arms is amazing and they have an agressive look, despite the other 2 color schemes being some what dull; silver/black iridium and Bronze/Titanium. Way too plain for me !

I was told at a SGH that they did not sell that well altough...

Too bad I would have love to see more colors with them, like a carbon/fire or a carbon/blue combination...

I love the design - very agressive. My only issue with these is limited peripheral vision when driving - due to the wide frame. Great style but cannot use on the road.

Frame: Platinum
Lens: 24K Gold Iridium

Excellent pair of sunglasses. They feel a little bulky around the lenses due to the Plate-ing but they're still very light and extremely comfortable. They fit quite well but there's no unobtanium like on other O-matter frames so you probably wouldn't play sports in them but that's not what they're built for. Stylistically stunning, visually arresting, and the gold lenses just gleam in the sun. Most people probably wouldn't wear these often but these were my everyday pair for a while. You'll get a lot of stares with these.

I love these glasses!! The styling is just too cool. From the cool ultra-sonically welded plates, to the super-aggresive look, these glasses have it all. Recommended for anyone looking to stand out.

A great design idea. I think the plating on the frames really give a great, unique look. Again, something different to offer to the sometimes-generic-looking Jacket family. A great fit, even without the unobtanium (sp?) on the earstems. Comfortable and lightweight.

Frame: Platinum w/Red Icon
Lens: 24K

First there was the Scar, and it was good. But with all good things, it slowly went away, but due to genetic testing and gene splicing, two specimens were left in its wake, a Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde of sorts: the docile Valve and the aggressive Plate.

While the Valve has a sleek design almost consisting of a continuous fluid curve, the Plate has thrown all that to the side to create a rugged monster. The scar design is still present, but plates have been welded onto the frame, complete with rivets and all. You can see right into the heart of the beast and in between all of the plates. You'll defintely get some looks while wearing these, but that's what you should want.

On a side note, I bought these while at my local sunglass store. They had Red Icons instead of the typical gold, so I snagged them, otherwise they would have been sent back and probably destroyed.
NeptuneTQ -

I love these guys. They're big on my face, almost like goggles, but they have such an aggressive appearance. They're extremely light, but with the plastic "plating" they feel strong and sturdy. Will most likely be my next buy.

They are great glasses really light and comfortable. they are one of my favourite pairs so wear them a lot. Just recently though after a year and a half of having them the paint on the nose bridge has started to wear away. I phoned Oakley and they said to send them in.

Great glasses, and not too expensive.

Just got my Oakley Plate. Bought it from eBay UK from a collector and it is absolutely mint. It looks like it just rolled off from the factory lines of Oakley USA. No trace of usage, not even swirl marks from cleaning. I think Oakley Plate is the baddest of all Oakley designs. It is just outrageous. Whenever I am wearing them Plate, people just can't help but stare, most of them ask me where I got it from and who made it. Nice one Oakley....
